Our Doctors
Keith Johns, D.C., P.C.
I originally became interested in medicine in high school. Immediately upon graduation, I entered the military and worked as a medical corpsman. After a couple of years, I continued education and became a respiratory therapist. I spent over 15 years specializing in adult critical care, E.R, neonatology, and pediatrics. Eventually, I started looking around at various aspects of medicine including alternative care medicine and stumbled upon chiropractic. That changed the whole direction of my life.
I graduated from Western States Chiropractic College in 1989 and opened Milwaukie Chiropractic Center in November the same year. My philosophy was simple: provide the best service, care, and experience one could expect to receive when seeing their doctor and everything else will fall into place.
I have enjoyed over 26 years of practice taking care of my friends, families, and surrounding communities. When I am not at the office you can find me somewhere with my family, at the gym, dirt biking, quad riding, cycling, running, boating, snowboarding, wake boarding, swimming or somewhere on the road, just traveling.
We have grown steadily over the past 21 years and now have a staff of 18 and we are open six days a week. I have been blessed to be surrounded by such a wonderful, professional group of people every day.
Theresa White, D.C.
I have been a chiropractor for 22 years now. I moved here from California in 1996 with my three kids to go to chiropractic school. I graduated from WSCC in 2000 and practiced in Oregon City for many years. I joined Milwaukie Chiropractic Center in January 2008. When I’m not working, I like to enjoy the outdoors with friends and family as well as hiking, skiing, and boating. I also enjoy cooking and fermenting foods.
With experience I have learned that the philosophy ‘one size fits all’ doesn’t work well, I have incorporated multiple chiropractic techniques for adjusting. I use diversified, which I learned at WSCC and with ongoing education and training I have learned some other gentle methods which include the Freeman Method, SOT, Activator, and drop table. This makes for a nice variety of chiropractic adjusting methods and techniques to offer my patients.
My patients are of all ages, both young and old. I treat patients with auto injuries, work injuries, and sports injuries. I treat pregnant moms and new babies suffering with ailments from colic to torticollis. I treat children with scoliosis, injuries and ear infections. I treat patients with aches and pains to patients with fibromyalgia. Sure, I treat spinal problems, subluxations, disc bulges, and arthritis, but I also treat extremities from shoulders, elbows, hands, hips, knees and feet. All of these problems depend on a healthy nervous system in order for them to heal.
Life is too short and it is meant to be enjoyed. Don’t accept living with pain.
We have a great team in our office here at Milwaukie Chiropractic Center, from the doctors and massage therapists, to our receptionists and billing department. We are here to help you!
Tanner Johns, D.C., B.S.
I was born and raised in the Clackamas/Happy Valley Oregon area. I played basketball and football in high school, then went on to play basketball in college at Southern Oregon University (formerly known as SOC) in Ashland, Oregon. At the start of my college career I studied business and marketing. It was during a summer part time job here at Milwaukie Chiropractic Center that I developed a passion for health care. I observed how appreciative patients were after their symptoms were relieved and how it improved their quality of life. It was then that I wanted to change my career path and pursue becoming a Chiropractor to be able to help people like this.
I graduated from the University of Western States here in Portland, Oregon in December 2017. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology and Doctorate of Chiropractic. I implement a variety of manual therapy techniques such as diversified adjusting, Flexion-Distraction, McKenzie, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), neuromuscular rehabilitation, and Kinesio Taping. I focus mainly on acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions like neck and back pain, headaches, whiplash, sciatica, carpal tunnel, and athletic injuries, with the intent to minimize pain and improve function to get you back to performing the things you like to do on a day to day basis. I may be young, but I am very well trained, dedicated, devoted and passionate about people’s health and well being that I will do everything in my power to help you reach your goals, whatever they may be.
When I am not in the office treating patients you will find me doing many different things; ATV/Quad riding, boating, snowboarding, at the gym (BFit/24 Hour Fitness in Clackamas), hiking, traveling, and going to Blazers/Ducks games.
FUN FACT ABOUT ME: I played basketball representing the USA in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in 6th/7th grade
Joseph Brignac, D.C.
I am excited to be back and part of the amazing team at Milwaukie Chiropractic Center. After living in Texas these past few years, I am very appreciative of being able to call Oregon & MCC my home again. We left Oregon in 2020 for Austin, TX so my wife could finish her medical residency and while there also had two beautiful daughters, Adeline & Charlotte. Being a dad has been the best thing in life and I cannot wait to see what’s next in store for our family.
I’ve been in practice for 10-plus years. My focus is providing the best evidence-based chiropractic care for my patients. I base my treatment plans on individual patient needs with an emphasis on establishing objective goals. I feel that setting goals with patients helps to achieve better results during the plan. I treat various conditions whether it be related to the spine and extremities. This includes but is not limited to sports injuries, work ergonomics, postural issues, sciatica, rotator cuff problems, headaches, neck/lower back pain, TMJ-D, tendinitis, etc. I use various treatments to best benefit my patients such as chiropractic manipulations, stretch/exercise rehab, graston soft tissue technique, trigger point release, laser therapy, activator, & drop table technique. Improving mobility, stability, and range of motion are some of main objectives after I work on getting you out of pain first. In the end, getting you back to the things you like to do whether it be running, hiking, playing with your kids, sitting at work comfortably and even waking up pain free is the most important aspect. As your provider I am here for YOU!
When I am not in the office I enjoy spending time with my girls, watching whatever sport is on, playing pickleball, golf, disc golf, discovering new places to eat & pulling for my LSU Tigers!
Nicole Brown, D.C.
I grew up in upstate New York until my family moved to Georgia where I attended high school and college. Then I spent two years in Colorado exploring the beautiful mountains of Steamboat Springs. Finally I moved to Portland where I attended the University of Western States and graduated in December 2022 as a Doctor of Chiropractic.
I have always loved sports, exercise, and learning about the human body. I knew I wanted to use these passions to find a way to help people. After working in a hospital for about a year after undergrad, I realized I wanted to be on the preventative side of things. That was when I looked into chiropractic and realized it was the perfect way to pursue my passions and help people live their best lives. My undergraduate degree is in exercise science and I love to incorporate this into my treatment. I like to use a gentler approach in the beginning, working with the body and not against it. I also use many other tools aside from adjustments like Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, cupping, Flexion-Distraction, and Laser Therapy to treat the whole person and not just the symptoms
When I’m not in the office I enjoy surfing, snowboarding, coaching lacrosse or taking my dog for a trail run.
Dokken Ramey, D.C.
I grew up in Solana Beach California back in the 80’s and at a young age I tried Yoga with Manju Jois who was one of two teachers in all of San Diego. This was back before yoga became well known, when only hippies and people preparing for the end of the world did it. I wasn’t either one of those, but I loved how it made me feel; strong and resilient, if not outright indestructible. Thanks in large part to the strengthening and stretching I did with yoga, I spent my childhood skateboarding and later playing rugby, and I breezed through injuries without a hitch. Until one day, I didn’t.
It was 1994, and I was 23 years old the first time I went to a chiropractor. I injured my back 2 weeks prior trying to push-start my friend’s truck when suddenly I felt a pop followed by back pain that dropped me to my knees and took the breath out of me. I spent every day, all day, on the floor in agony, barely able to move. I went to two different medical doctors that each gave me medications that didn’t help the pain at all. I remember the sinking feeling that I might spend the rest of my life in this condition. The pain hadn’t improved even slightly over two weeks, and I couldn’t function. Eventually a friend asked me if I had gone to a chiropractor and I replied, “What’s a chiropractor?”
Back in the 1990’s chiropractors were not nearly as well known as they are now, and there weren’t nearly as many. It happened that there was a chiropractor in my town. I went to his office that same afternoon that I learned they even existed. I literally crawled into his office. An hour later I walked out. Chiropractic changed my life that day.
Fast forward to today- I’ve lived in Portland for 25 years now with my wife and now I have 2 children. I have been practicing chiropractic for over 17 years as of this writing. Helping my patients, and myself, recover from injuries and stay healthy over the years has been an incredible journey. It has shown me that the human body has an amazing ability to heal itself. Different people need different things depending on their age, lifestyle, and the severity of their injuries. Younger people, especially if they eat well and move often, tend to recover quickly from just a few chiropractic adjustments. As we age, and take on more responsibilities, we often become less physically active, and more filled with stress. At this stage, we often need more help and more time to recover from our injuries. For these patients, combining chiropractic adjustments with physiotherapies, stretches, and exercises can provide life changing results. And that’s why I became a chiropractor- To help change lives for the better, the way my chiropractor helped me.
These days, when I’m not in the office, I’m with my family; probably driving the kids somewhere or making us all dinner. And when I’m not in the office and not hanging out with my family, I’m sleeping 😊
